White Roses

In many cities through out the Unites States, Christians have been delivering white roses to Jewish institutions within their communities following Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7th. The white roses are symbolic of the Nazi-era Resistence group, the White Rose. The roses represents the Christian community’s solidarity and friendship and is a reminder to the Jewish community that they have support from others. The Philos Project, an organization that aims to create a bond between Chritians and Jews has been the leader of this initiative. They have been promoting and spreading their message of Christian support for Jews and Israel. They have created a system called PAL in which members of this system get notified when an antisemtic attack occurs, and where to show up to support or help. One example of how the PAL system has been put into action and been impactful was an incident where an Israeli restaurant in New York City was vandalized with antisemetic graffiti. Members of PAL and Philos staff went to eat lunch at this restaurant and delivered white roses to the owner. Such initiatives and immense support from communities like the Christian community give Jews around the world hope for a world of peace between people from all cultures, faiths, and backgrounds. .
