Is Basketball Just a Sport?

A basketball team of Israeli high schoolers traveled to New York City and played a game of basketball with high schoolers at the Ramaz Upper School. Many of the Israeli kids have been displaced from their homes since October 7th and some are even former hostages. Many players suffered the losses of close family members and friends. As a team, they experienced the loss of their coach. Since the war started, they haven’t been able to play together as a team until now. Project 24 is responsible for helping these boys travel to New York and once again, play as a team. Many players said that playing basketball helps distract them from all of the pain they have felt over the past months. The game ended in a tie, 45-45, between the two teams but the players were just happy to have a friendly game of basketball once again.
